1. scope of application privacy policy
This Privacy Statement sets forth the steps taken by Schnyder SA (hereinafter referred to as "Schnyder") to comply with data protection requirements under Swiss and EU law and other applicable laws governing the collection, storage, use and transfer ("Processing") of personal data.
This statement describes how Schnyder processes personal data that Schnyder has received from you through a website or application. This statement applies solely to personal data collected by Schnyder, for example, through websites, by e-mail and other online tools and applications.
The Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG) and any applicable law from the European Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) apply.

When you access our website www.schnyder.com, information is temporarily stored in so-called log files on our server. This is information that the browser of your terminal device automatically sends. Namely:

- Name and URL of the retrieved data

- Country from which our website is accessed

The above data is processed by us for the following purposes:
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. A data subject is a person about whom personal data is processed. Processing includes any handling of personal data, regardless of the means and procedures used, in particular the storage, disclosure, acquisition, deletion, storage, modification, destruction and use of personal data.
Schnyder processes the personal data that is necessary to provide our services effectively and in a user-friendly manner, as well as permanently, securely and reliably.
As a matter of principle, Schnyder processes personal data only with the consent of the data subject, unless the processing is permitted for other reasons, for example, to fulfill a contract with the data subject and for corresponding pre-contractual measures, to protect our overriding legitimate interests, because the processing is evident from the circumstances, or after prior information. In this context, we process in particular information that a data subject transmits himself or herself when contacting us - for example, by letter, e-mail, contact form, telephone or social media - and may store such information in a customer relationship management system (CRM system), in online store software or with comparable tools.
Schnyder processes personal data for the period of time required for the respective purpose or purposes. In the case of longer-term storage obligations due to legal and other obligations to which we are subject, we restrict the processing accordingly.
Schnyder may have personal data processed by third parties - also abroad. Such contract processors process personal data on our behalf. Schnyder ensures in each case that such third parties guarantee appropriate data protection.
Schnyder is present on social media platforms and other online platforms in order to communicate with customers and interested persons and to inform them about our services. Legal basis for the processing of personal data
Schnyder processes personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection law (DSG) as well as other applicable data protection laws (e.g. DSGVO).
3 Processing of personal data
Schnyder collects and processes personal data from
- visitors to its websites, whether registered with Schnyder or not;
- Contact persons and employees of suppliers, dealers, vendors and providers of Schnyder's products and product parts;
- Customers, purchasers and recipients/beneficiaries or interested parties of Schnyder's products and services or their contacts and employees;
- Contacts and employees of business partners and affiliates and other commercial and economic partners;
- Recipients of Schnyder's newsletters;
- Participants in market research and opinion surveys conducted by Schnyder;
- Participants in courses, seminars and other events offered by Schnyder;
- Users of the WIFI offered by Schnyder in its business premises and other locations;
(all collectively, Business Partners).
Personal data of business partners is generally collected from data subjects directly in the course of using the websites, requesting or using products or services, submitting reviews and reports, participating in market or other surveys, attending Schnyder events, or in direct communication with Schnyder via email, telephone or otherwise.
However, it may also be collected indirectly, namely when transactions are made for the benefit of or for delivery to a business partner by another business partner, on the recommendation of third parties (e.g. recommendation by acquaintances of the business partner) or by obtaining or purchasing supplementary information from third party data sources (e.g. social media, address brokers).

Personal Data and Contact Information: This includes, but is not limited to, first and last name, home address, place of residence, telephone number, email address, age, date of birth, gender, marital status, family members, details of any secondary contact, photograph, details of function, details of previous business dealings with these persons, details of business transactions, inquiries, offers, quotations, conditions and contracts, details of professional or other interests of the persons;
Data in connection with delivery and sales as well as orders and purchases: This includes, but is not limited to, payment details, credit card details and other payment details, billing and delivery address, products and services delivered and sold as well as ordered and purchased;
Data in connection with the marketing of products and services: This includes, but is not limited to, information about marketing activities such as receipt of newsletters, newsletter opt-ins and opt-outs, documents received, invitations and participation in events and special activities, personal preferences and interests, etc.
Data related to the use of the Websites: This includes, but is not limited to, IP address and other identifiers (e.g., username on social media, MAC address of smartphone or computer, cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, log files, local shared objects (Flash cookies) or other technologies that collect personal data in an automated manner), date and time of visit or use of the Websites, pages and content viewed, referring websites, etc.;
Data related to communications: including, but not limited to, preferred communication channel, correspondence, language of correspondence and communication with Schnyder (including records of communication), etc.; and
For telephony and e-mail traffic, Schnyder uses the Microsoft service Exchange Online, which is operated in the Microsoft Azure Cloud in Western Europe. The stored contact data is thus synchronized with the Microsoft cloud service Azure Active Directory (AAD). The data and information that must be transmitted to Schnyder in connection with telephony and e-mail are treated as strictly confidential. 4. toolshop
If you would like to use the services of our tool store, it is necessary for you to provide us with the data required to process orders and to view your customer account. By opening a customer account, you will receive password-protected direct access to your completed, open and recently shipped orders. In addition, you can view your personal data.
5. transfer of data to third parties (including joint controllers and order data processors)
Your data will be transferred to our partners (third parties) as far as the order processing makes it necessary. Schnyder uses the social plug-ins listed below on its website to make its company better known. The underlying promotional purpose is to be considered a legitimate interest within the meaning of the DSG and the DSGVO. The responsibility for data protection-compliant operation is to be ensured by their respective providers. Data processing in connection with these plug-ins takes place with your consent when you use them.
If you use the services of these social networks independently of or in connection with our website, the social networks evaluate your use of the plug-in. In this case, information about the plugin is forwarded to the social networks.

Our Internet pages contain at least one plug-in from YouTube, belonging to Google Inc, located LLC 901 Cherry Ave. San Bruno, CA 94066 USA. As soon as you visit a page of our website equipped with a YouTube plug-in, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. In doing so, the YouTube server is informed which specific page of our website you have visited. 9. newsletter
With your consent, you can subscribe to our newsletter, with which we inform you about our current interesting offers.
For the registration to our newsletter we use the so-called double-opt-in procedure. This means that after your registration, we will send you an e-mail to the e-mail address you provided, in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your information will be blocked and automatically deleted after one month. In addition, we store your respective IP addresses used and times of registration and confirmation. Stored data will be deleted by us when it is no longer required for the specified purpose.
Regarding the deletion of data, it should be noted that we are subject to certain legal obligations, which foresee a retention obligation for certain data. We have to comply with this obligation.
